CUNY-CBS SB1070
Team MEC (Medgar Evers College) joined with CUNY TV and CBS to create this video on SB1070. We showcased to viewers what would happen if the new law dealing with immigration (SB1070) that is enacted in Arizona was brought to New York. The whole production for this video was done in two weeks. I had a great time and learned so much. Let me know what you think and your opinions on this issue.

SB1070:
By now we’ve all heard about Arizona’s new law, SB1070. It’s the one that empowers police and law enforcement officials to stop anyone at random, no matter how suspicious or innocent they may be, and ask to see documentation, proof that they belong here. No papers and you can be detained and ultimately deported. This effort to stem the flow of illegals is being applauded by the right and bashed by the left who have come out in droves to protest in disgust, calling the law too extreme and racist. We wondered what would happen if SB1070 was enacted in New York. In a city that prides itself on having a melting pot of races and religions, just who would be targeted? What impact would that law have on New York’s economy, its families, and the huddled masses that are the backbone of our diverse population?
