For real, I checked out your lock tutorial. Normaally I would just see what’s up because you’re a smart and postive cutie but this actually helped me out. I’ve had locks for years and still don’t know much about care, post-washing and sectioning. I got some good points from you will be using them. This will be helpful to me and many, thank you & keep it going!
All the best princess,
Daoud

Hey Wahidah,
I came across your website through Facebook since we’re friends on there, watched this clip and definitely had some questions. I locked my hair about 2 years ago and whenever the opportunity presents itself I always have questions for people who maintain locks, do as much research as possible, etc. just to be able to improve how I maintain my hair.
I’ve only retwisted my hair a couple of times because I find the time needed to do it to be agonizingly long. When I was living in New York, Boston, and Maryland, it was always easy to find people who retwist my hair very well at an affordable price; however, since moving to Los Angeles a number of months ago, there aren’t as many people out here who retwist hair that I have been satisfied with. This has even led me to think about cutting my locks because they’ve become more difficult to maintain in Los Angeles.
The questions I have are: how often do you set heat to your locks? Being of Dominican background, my hair is naturally thick and extremely curly so retwisting my hair with just the locking gel would not suffice since it’ll untwist by itself. Any recommendations that you’d have?
Also, I workout rigorously 6-7 days a week which includes running for 5-7 miles and lifting everyday and I’ve realized that considering how much I exude sweat that it may impact whenever I get my hair retwisted. Therefore, I’ve been trying to schedule my rest days immediately after I get my hair retwisted so I have a day where the locks can set in more. What are your recommendations for lock maintenance and working out very frequently?
Take care and I look forward to seeing what you have to say!
All the best,
Clayton
